i had to take several months off after making over 4 hours of instrumental music in 2020. i had time to learn new techniques and learn a few new instruments. when it was time to get back to making beats, i decided to take a different approach by sampling less and composing more. i know i've got a stack of records waiting for the next tape already, so don't worry too much if this isn't your thing.

after spending so many of my evenings in 2020 working on music, i thought if i stopped, i'd either feel like i wasn't being productive or i'd lose all interest in ever coming back to it, but thankfully, having time to experience new things, people, places and watch some great movies has made me more interested in creating / feeling renewed and inspired. breaks are good! that less sleep, more beats attitude isn't for me anymore.

anyways i hope you like this or hate it enough to share it with someone you care about.
